Wing Chun Chuan or Everlasting
Springtime boxing is a traditional Kung Fu system that originated
in the 17th century.
It is an ideal way to stimulate both mind and body, and is also
a very efficient means of self-defence.
Training consists of learning Chi Kung breathing techniques and
study of the 3 forms. Initially, the 1st form, Sil Lum Tao (or Little
Idea) form is taught, followed by Chum Kui, and, finally, Biu Jee.
Training is also given in Chi Sau - sticking hands - which develops
sensitivity and mind/ body co-ordination.
The moves themselves are practiced slowly to develop good health
and increased vitality.
The practitioner learns to relax so movement becomes natural and
fluid. while energy - Jing - is used only when making a strike.
Because Wing Chun is a soft Martial Art, and does not rely on bodily
strength, or athletic ability, but rather on quick reactions and
combinations of moves, it can be practiced by anyone, and is particularly
suitable for mature students
